The Opportunity - 10 month maternity leave cover

We’re looking for a temporary Senior Talent Partner to deliver great outcomes in our busy Talent team and help bring great people into meaningful roles across our Diocese.

In this role, you’ll be leading a small team delivering contemporary recruitment strategies and processes to shape recruitment campaigns that align with best practice and internal policies.

The team work with hiring managers to consult on attraction strategies, draft job advertisements, deliver fit for purpose recruitment processes, ensure appropriate pre-screening is completed, creating and issuing offer letters, updating systems, and being a crucial contact point for candidates and hiring managers.

No two days are the same, and your work will directly support communities across the Hunter and Manning regions.

Job Description

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Senior Talent Partner leads a small team and ensures that the recruitment activities are integrated with the Diocesan marketing objectives, fostering a collaborative approach to attracting top talent. 

This position will also ensure that we are driving contemporary recruitment solutions including working closely with the marketing team to align recruitment strategies with Diocesan needs. 

They will focus on enhancing the Diocesan employer brand, leveraging marketing channels to engage potential candidates, and crafting compelling recruitment campaigns. This role will also be instrumental in creating effective workflows for sourcing, screening, and engaging candidates, while ensuring that marketing best practices are incorporated throughout the recruitment process.

This position is crucial in cultivating strong relationships both internally and externally, ensuring a collaborative and integrated approach to implementing talent management strategies that align with industry’s best practices and the Diocese’s goals. By fostering these connections, the Senior Talent Partner helps drive the development of innovative and effective talent acquisition strategies that support the Diocese’s long-term success. 

The incumbent commits to working within Work Health and Safety guidelines and Code of Conduct at all times whilst in the employ of the Catholic Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle.

Desired Skills and Experience

EXPERIENCE/CRITERIA

  • Strong understanding and experience using Talent platforms. (Seek, Linkedin, ATS Elmo or similar).
  • Experience engaging with suppliers to negotiate services to improve talent platforms for hiring managers and talent employees.
  • Ability to engage, inspire, influence, coach and deliver.
  • Strong interpersonal, relationship and customer service skills.
  • Strong consulting and negotiating skills and business acumen. 
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in leadership and coaching on best practice recruitment.
  • Ability to conduct and assess a trend analysis and reporting on recruitment data.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current Class C Driver’s Licence 
  • Tertiary qualification in Business (or equivalent) (Desirable)
