We're looking for a creative and collaborative Marketing and Communications Officer to join our Catholic Schools team in this full-time, 11-month parental leave opportunity (September 2026 to August 2027).
In this role, you'll help bring the story of Catholic education to life through engaging campaigns, compelling content and meaningful communications. Working closely with schools and stakeholders across the Diocese, you'll create content that celebrates achievement, supports enrolments and strengthens connections with our school communities.
We're looking for someone with outstanding written and visual communication skills, a creative mindset and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Desired Skills and Experience
EXPERIENCE/CRITERIA
Experience developing and implementing marketing and communications strategies and plans in a large, complex organisation.
Strong interpersonal, relationship and customer service skills. Demonstrated capacity to develop collaborative relationships and deliver consistently high levels of client service and advice.
Excellent communication skills – written, visual and verbal.
Experience with editing photographs and writing, proofreading and editing written content.
Photography skills with a good eye for content.
Experience with social media and online content across a range of platforms.
Experience working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with multiple stakeholders.
Excellent organisation and time management skills and capacity for multi-tasking.
Familiarity with current marketing and communications practices and processes and awareness of emerging trends.
QUALIFICATIONS
Tertiary qualification in Marketing, Communications or Business
Extensive demonstrated relevant work experience
Current Working with Children Check (WWCC)
Current Class C Driver’s Licence
Experience with Microsoft; Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop), Google Ads and Analytics, SurveyMonkey and/ or Campaign Monitor. (Desirable)
Experience with social media management packages such as Hootsuite or Loomly. (Desirable)
CMS experience – For example: WordPress or Craft. (Desirable)
