People and Culture are seeking an Organisational Development Specialist to play a key role in enhancing our workforce capability and driving continuous improvement. Partnering with senior leaders, stakeholders, and the People & Culture team, you will support the design and delivery of OD strategies that align with the Diocese’s mission and objectives.
Your initial focus will be on facilitating leadership development across the Diocese that aligns with our values, and contribute to the ongoing development and embedding of a leadership capability framework to strengthen our leadership pipeline.

The Organisational Development Specialist plays a crucial role in building capability and developing, implementing and evaluating strategies that drive continuous improvement of the Diocese’s workforce.
The role will work closely with our senior leaders, stakeholders and the People & Culture team to understand organisational drivers and be responsible for the delivery of organisational development initiatives that support the Diocese to achieve its mission and objectives.
Key focus areas for this role initially will include supporting the design of a leadership capability framework to establish a leadership pipeline, and the building and facilitation of leadership development that is line with our values.
Critical to the success of this role are building strong working relationships with stakeholders and the ability to engage, coach and support others to achieve their success.
The incumbent commits to working within Work Health and Safety guidelines and Code of Conduct at all times whilst in the employ of the Catholic Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle.
Desired Skills and Experience
EXPERIENCE/CRITERIA
Substantial experience in OD initiatives that drive continuous improvement in performance and capability, including Leadership or Capability frameworks.
Experience in facilitating leadership development or coaching leaders.
Experience in analysis and reporting of data to drive insights and inform decisions.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders, and strong presentation skills.
Project management skills and change management experience.
Experience working within a complex and diverse organisations; not-for-profit or faithbased sector experience is desirable.
Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary and evidence-based approaches to leadership development and/or organisational development strategies.
Proficiency with MS Office and SharePoint, with highly developed skills in managing data and undertaking analysis in MS Excel and other tools.
QUALIFICATIONS
Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Organisational Development, Psychology or related discipline
Current Class C Driver’s Licence and willing to travel within the Diocese to facilitate and support implementation
DDI Facilitator Certification or experience working with DDI Solutions (Desirable)
Qualifications in Project Management or Change Management (Desirable)
