Job Description

POSITION DESCRIPTION

This position is responsible for the administration of the finance functions for the Diocesan Education sector, in relation to schools.

The System Support Officer interacts with other Finance Shared Service team members, and colleagues from across the Diocese, and communicates with schools, external suppliers/providers and customers in performing accounts functions.

The incumbent commits to working within Work Health and Safety guidelines and Code of Conduct at all times whilst in the employ of the Catholic Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle.

Desired Skills and Experience

EXPERIENCE/CRITERIA

  • Minimum 5 years in a finance role, with a comprehensive understanding of all financial transactions, including purchasing experience.
  • Experience and well developed skills in managing data and undertaking analysis in MS Excel
  • Experience using ERP financial system for user maintenance, processing and reporting, such as TechnologyOne
  • Ability to prioritise multiple requirements and work under pressure to achieve deadlines.
  • Experience working in a customer service management platform such as Service Now
  • Demonstrated experience in the provision of exceptional customer service.
  • Experience in an educational environment (desirable)
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills with the capacity to work effectively in a team
  • Proven capacity to identify an issue, provide a solution and implement the desired outcome, in line with compliance and policies for finance processing and system
  • Proven experience in understanding accounts receivable and accounts payable.
  • Sound knowledge in understanding and ensuring compliance to CDMN chart of accounts
  • Ability to work with discretion and maintain confidentiality
  • High level computer literacy including experience with MS Word and Excel.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication (written and oral) skills, including effective telephone manner

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential

  • Tertiary qualification in Finance/Accounting or relevant qualification
  • Current Working With Children Check (WWCC)
