The Catholic Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle are seeking expressions of interest for Casual Learning Support Assistants in the Newcastle, Maitland, Lakes, Upper Hunter, Manning and North regions.

The position of Learning Support Assistant works in collaboration with the Learning Support Teachers to support students with additional needs, supporting the development of inclusive learning environments and providing assistance to teachers to meet the specific learning needs of students with additional needs.
Desired Skills and Experience
Demonstrated experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder
Demonstrated experience working with students who exhibit challenging behaviours and ability to follow plans and procedures put in place for these students
Demonstrated understanding of non-violent crisis intervention strategies for school students
Highly developed computer skills and an ability to use technology for education support
Demonstrated ability to contribute as a member of a team and assist in the planning, preparation and implementation of personalised plans and programs to enhance student support
Current paid Working with Children Check (WWCC) number (Must have before application)
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Salary is in accordance with New South Wales & Australian Capital Territory Catholic Systemic Schools Enterprise Agreement 2020.
