St Bede’s Catholic College is seeking a permanent part-time Administrative/Finance Officer to join the team from 20 July 2026. This position is classified as Level 6 for three days per week and Level 4 for two days per week.
Located in the growing suburb of Chisholm, St Bede’s Catholic College is a contemporary co-educational Catholic secondary school within the Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle. Since opening in 2018, the College has experienced significant growth and currently enrols approximately 900 students across Years 7–12, with capacity to expand to 1,100 students.

The School Finance Officer is accountable for providing administrative and operational support to the Principal. The School Finance Officer is to administer elements of the school’s finances with a particular emphasis on, but not limited to, purchase orders, invoicing, quotations, deliveries, activities payments, and fee payments.
The School Finance Officer must demonstrate attention to detail, excellent time management with the ability to work under pressure and multitask as well as the capacity to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
The School Finance Officer will be required to engage in other general financial tasks as designated by the Principal or delegate and other general administrative duties as required and directed by the Principal or delegate.
The School Administrative Officer provides administrative support to school staff and the school principal. Administrative Officers within the Catholic Schools Office, Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle may be classified as either a level 4,. Desired Skills and Experience
EXPERIENCE/CRITERIA
Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Catholic Education, with the ability to actively support and promote the Catholic ethos and culture of the school.
Minimum three years’ experience in an administration and/or finance role, with demonstrated ability to accurately and efficiently perform a broad range of administrative and financial tasks.
Proven ability to manage finance functions including billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, purchasing, asset management and inventory processes.
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with staff, students, families and external stakeholders.
Demonstrated experience preparing internal financial and administrative reports for leadership teams.
Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, particularly Excel, and experience using databases and enterprise software systems.
Experience using TechnologyOne and Compass would be highly advantageous.
Demonstrated ability to use initiative, exercise sound judgement and work independently while remaining accountable for own work.
Proven capacity to organise, prioritise and manage multiple tasks and competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of professionalism, discretion and confidentiality.
Ability to work collaboratively and contribute positively within a team environment.
Willingness to comply with the Catholic Schools Office Accreditation to Work, Teach and Lead Policy – Category A: Accreditation to Work.
QUALIFICATIONS
Certificate III in Finance or equivalent qualification.
Current paid NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC).
Completion of Anaphylaxis Training.
Current First Aid Certificate (desirable)
