St Columban's Primary School Mayfield is seeking a Permanent Part Time (9hrs per week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays) Canteen Manager to join the team February 2026.
St Columban's Primary School, Mayfield has, for over one hundred years, represented a snapshot of the wider community. We nurture our students to become active, accepting and culturally aware future citizens. Our students draw from the areas of Mayfield, Mayfield West, Tighes Hill, Warabrook and Carrington. Our unique school community boasts the highest multicultural population of any primary school in the Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle with many families from Asia, the Pacific Islands and Africa, as well as Indigenous Australians, forming a school community that is culturally aware and accepting of others.
The Canteen Manager is responsible for the profitable management and operation of the school canteen according to the relevant policies, procedures and WHS legislation. The Canteen Manager will support the development of strong relationships within the school community in particular with the students, parents and volunteers, teachers and other school personnel.

EXPERIENCE/CRITERIA
Experience in food preparation and service setting.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Demonstrated customer service skills particularly with children.
Demonstrated skills in operating a food business.
Demonstrated ability to supervise a small team and to show appropriate initiative.
Demonstrated time management skills and ability to control day-today operations.
Experience with volunteers and parent groups.
Knowledge of basic financial management systems.
Understanding of work health and safety and ability to meet legislative requirements.
Demonstrated computer literacy using Microsoft Office applications.
Experience in food safety and handling.
QUALIFICATIONS
Basic Food Handling Certificate
Current Food Supervisor Certificate
Current paid NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) number.
