All Saints’ College Maitland is seeking a Temporary Part-Time (13 hours per week) Library Assistant to join the team for Terms 2-4, 2025 on Wednesdays and Fridays. 

All Saints’ College is a coeducational year 7-12 Catholic School which is part of the Maitland Newcastle Diocese system of schools. With approximately 1200 students and 185 staff learning and working across 2 campuses, we are the largest school in our diocese and one of the largest Catholic Schools in the state. The Junior Campus caters for our year 7-10 students, and the Senior Campus caters for our senior students in years 11 and 12. Following the decision by the Diocese in 2021 the College will be transitioning to one campus in the next few years.

Job Description

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The School Officer/Library Assistant:

  • As a member of the library team, works to support teachers and students utilising Library facilities and resources
  • As a member of the school team, works to support nominated staff in the performance of their duties

Desired Skills and Experience

EXPERIENCE/CRITERIA

  • Ability to articulate a clear understanding of and a personal commitment to Catholic Education and the mission of the Church through Catholic schools
  • Recent experience working in a school library including working knowledge of OLIVER cataloguing system
  • Knowledge of WHS requirements in a library setting
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to show initiative, work alone or as part of a team
  • A flexible approach to completion of tasks with frequent interruptions

QUALIFICATIONS

  • ALIA accredited qualification, preferably at the diploma level
  • Current paid NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) number
  • Completion of anaphylaxis training

 

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Salary is in accordance with New South Wales & Australian Capital Territory Catholic Systemic Schools Enterprise Agreement 2023.
