Our Lady Of Lourdes Primary School Tarro is seeking a Permanent Part Time (3 hours per week) Library Assistant to join the team January 2025.

Our Lady of Lourdes Primary School, Tarro is a systemic Catholic school within the Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle, catering for students from Kindergarten to Year 6 from the areas of Tarro, Woodberry, Beresfield, Thornton, Tenambit and Ashtonfield. Our school community is warm and welcoming, with a strong focus on supporting children with additional needs to help them reach their individual learning goals. The school celebrates the unique gifts and qualities of each individual student and encourages them to fully participate in the life of their class and school. At Our Lady of Lourdes, students can participate in many extra-curricular activities and competitions beyond the classroom environment such as debating, public speaking, ICAS, Science and Technology challenges, spelling bees and sporting events.

Job Description

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The School Officer/Library Assistant:

  • As a member of the library team, works to support teachers and students utilising Library facilities and resources
  • As a member of the school team, works to support nominated staff in the performance of their duties

Desired Skills and Experience

EXPERIENCE/CRITERIA

  • Ability to articulate a clear understanding of and a personal commitment to Catholic Education and the mission of the Church through Catholic schools
  • Recent experience working in a school library including working knowledge of OLIVER cataloguing system
  • Knowledge of WHS requirements in a library setting
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to show initiative, work alone or as part of a team
  • A flexible approach to completion of tasks with frequent interruptions

QUALIFICATIONS

  • ALIA accredited qualification, preferably at the diploma level
  • Current paid NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) number
  • Completion of anaphylaxis training

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Salary is in accordance with New South Wales & Australian Capital Territory Catholic Systemic Schools Enterprise Agreement 2023.
