CatholicCare are seeking a Part-Time Volunteer Coordinator based in Taree to support the recruitment, onboarding, coordination, and engagement of volunteers across Community Kitchens and Diocese programs.
Working across a 39-hour per fortnight roster, the role manages the full volunteer lifecycle including recruitment, suitability assessment, induction, and ongoing supervision and support. Working closely with the Volunteer Manager, you will ensure compliance with WHS, safeguarding, and organisational policies.
You will coordinate mandatory training, maintain accurate volunteer records and rosters, and provide monthly reporting to support service delivery and management oversight.
The successful applicant will be organised, people-focused, and committed to safe, inclusive, and values-driven volunteer engagement, with experience in volunteer coordination or community services highly regarded.

To coordinate the volunteer recruitment, engagement and day-to-day management of volunteers of the Taree and Forster Tuncurry Community Kitchens ensuring that we work together to build a stronger, fairer and kinder society that values children, young people, families and individuals. The Coordinator will be responsible for the day-to-day operations including: rostering, volunteer support, induction, and ongoing training of volunteers, ensuring safe food handling and preparation, stakeholder relationships, WH & S, community collaboration and liaison, liaison with schools and other interested parties including collaborating with parish priests and parishioners. The Coordinator will work in collaboration with the Community Kitchen Coordinator to deliver operational KPI’s for the Taree and Forster Tuncurry Community Kitchens.

EXPERIENCE/CRITERIA

Demonstrated experience in managing people including people from diverse backgrounds
Demonstrated experience in managing volunteer engagement and participation
Knowledge and sound understanding of the national standards of volunteer involvement
Sound understanding of kitchen operations and safe food handling practices
Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
Sound Computer literacy
Ability to deliver orientation and training
QUALIFICATIONS
Diploma of Volunteer Management (or willingness to obtain) or equivalent relevant experience and/or extensive work history within the Social Services sector
NSW Driver Licence
A current Working With Children Check for paid employment or willingness to obtain
