Job Description

The Opportunity:

CatholicCare is looking for a Project Officer to enhance service delivery, streamline processes, and support compliance reporting. This role is integral to researching, consulting, and developing evidence-based, trauma-informed, and culturally sensitive practices across CatholicCare PSP, SIL and aftercare programmes.

You will play a key role in process improvement and project management, ensuring data integrity while contributing to compliance reporting. You will also be responsible for supporting the PSP, SIL and aftercare teams though training and support in using new systems and adapting to systems improvements. Our team works collaboratively to provide support as you develop greater autonomy in the role.

This part-time position (20 hours per week) offers flexibility, professional growth, and the chance to make a meaningful impact in a mission-driven organisation.

Desired Skills and Experience

Experience/Criteria

  • A working knowledge of the legislation, policies and standards relevant to child protection, statutory out-of-home-care, the permanency support program and child safe organisations.
  • Ability to deliver accountable, collaborative and evidence-based practice that respects the culture and context of children, young people, their family and community.
  • Sound understanding and ability to apply best practice child development, trauma and attachment theory to case planning.
  • Ability to maintain timely, accurate and relevant records for reporting and information sharing.
  • A demonstrated commitment to work to meet the needs of children, young people, their family and Foster carers. 
  • Significant experience in the provision of social services is desirable however applicants must be willing to complete formal training and obtain role specific training.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork skills and ability to work independently and proactively. 
  • Experience working with people from a CALD and ATSI background highly desirable 

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications, in Social Science, Social Work, Project Management, or related discipline with demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Working with Children Check and National Police Check.
  • Current driver’s licence.
