Job Description

POSITION DESCRIPTION

We are currently seeking OOSH Assistants to join the teams at several of our successful and well-established services across the Maitland regions.

These opportunities will be offered on a casual basis, working across our before and after school programs and vacation care programs.

You must be available to work afternoon shifts at least twice a week.

 As an  Assistant, you will be responsible for:

  • Supervising children’s play, ensuring their physical safety while promoting and guiding positive behaviour
  • Assisting the developing and implementing programs that offer a diverse range of experiences to promote children’s independence, social skills, learning, and development.

Desired Skills and Experience

EXPERIENCE/CRITERIA

  • Computer literacy in order to document examples of learning stories
  • A fun, professional, positive, and reliable demeanour
  • The ability to collaborate as an active member of the St Nicholas OOSH team
  • Be able to communicate effectively with children, families, and your team

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Working with Children Check verification number
  • Current First Aid Certificate, Anaphylaxis and Asthma Management training
  • Child protection qualification (Desirable)
